The documentation and programs are packed with the PD-program LHARC. You can download individually from www.assware.de the files README.*, COPYRIGH.ENG and ORDER.ENG. Before you open the file ASSWARE1.EXE, you have to read the files README.*, ORDER.ENG and COPYRIGH.ENG and you have to agree with the condition in it. It is not allowed to copy ASSWARE1.EXE or a part of it. It is not allowed to change the data or programs in ASSWARE1.EXE. It is not allowed to use the Programs in ASSWARE1.EXE. It is only allowed to test the Programs in ASSWARE1.EXE for one month. The exact conditions you see in ORDER.ENG and COPYRIGH.ENG. Liability-claims because of damages on the basis of perhaps existing lacks is excluded in each case. You can use the software on your own risk. Before you order the software, you get the possibility to test it. The order form is contained in ORDER.ENG. E X T R A C T I N G F I L E S: ================================ make a new directory and and copy ASSWARE1.EXE to the directory, then call ASSWARE1.EXE. ASSWARE1.EXE extracts itself then automatically. After it you can look at README and the *.TXT files with the type-command as well as with an ASCII-editor. Pay attention to the conditions of the PD-program LHARC in LHA212.DOC. This files belong to LHARC: LHA.EXE and LHA212.DOC. You find LHA.EXE and LHA212.in the self extracting file LHA212.EXE. The programs are released for the IBM-AT03 and for PC sold from A.S.S. -WARE. A flawless working for compatible computer is not guaranteed. A general release for compatible PC is not possible. But i have not found problems with PC, which have a processor compatibel to the Intel 386. Normally, the programs run with MS-DOS 6.x, with DOS, which is on the start-diskette of Windows 95/98, with FREEDOS BETA 8 and partially also in DOS-windows. For security-reasons, the user must test this themselves. Known restrictions: ==================== 1) IMAGE.EXE, INT13.EXE and KONVERT2.EXE do not run with Windows 2000/XP 2) IMAGE.EXE, INT13.EXE and KONVERT2.EXE run only under certain conditions with Windows 9x. See the documentation, do not use the parameter WRITE with Windows 9x. 3) IMAGE.EXE runs only on PC with newer Bios (the Bios must know the LBA-procedure). IMAGE.EXE runs only with ATA-drives. 4) INT13.EXE can use only drives till 8 Gbytes. 5) SPLIT.EXE does not run with DOS, it runs with Windows 9x. 6) CMOS.EXE with parameter !2 destroys the CMOS content with most PC, even if the CMOS should only be read with this parameter!!! Therefore do not use the parameters !2. 7) With DIRA.COM the date can be altered only until 1999. 8) You must turn off a writing protection for the boot-sector in the bios. Because it prevents the writing of the first sectors. This "writing protection" often wrongly recognizes many bootmanagers (for example the LILO) as viruses. 9) Old versions of MS-DOS must have the system files at the start of the logical drive C:. This may cause problems with BOOTX.BAT. 10)Because the programs are DOS-programs, only file names with 8 + 3 signs are allowed. 11)The input files for ASSCHECK.EXE may not be generated with a DIR-command in a DOS-window. You have to boot with a DOS-floppy disc. 12)For further restrictions please see the documentation.
